About Us:

The mission of the City of Fulton Parks and Recreation Department is to develop, operate, and maintain parks and recreation facilities for the betterment of our citizens. The department also administers recreation, cultural, and social programs and events to enhance the quality of life the citizens and guests of Fulton

Performs a variety of manual labor tasks associated with the maintenance, repair, cleaning and operation of Park facilities.

• Entry level position, no experience is required.

• Must pass pre-employment drug testing and submit to periodic drug testing as required by applicable laws.
• Subject to working a varied schedule including some evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Subject to emergency call-in.
• Must have no felony convictions.
• If operating a motor vehicle for the purpose of completing job duties, must possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
• Basic procedures, tools and equipment used in grounds, building construction, maintenance, and/or custodial duties is desirable.

• Operate a variety of hand and powered tools and equipment associated with building and grounds maintenance in a manner consistent with safety principles;

Functions:

• Depending on assignment, performs general park grounds maintenance duties including mowing, weed eating, edging, trash pick-up, and cleaning restrooms.
• Depending on assignment, propagates, plants and maintains shrubs, flowers and trees for assigned Park grounds.
• Depending on assignment, assists with ball field maintenance.
• Depending on assignment, assists in pool maintenance including vacuuming pools.
• Depending on assignment, cleans assigned facilities including dusting surfaces and fixtures; scrubbing, mopping, vacuuming, and/or polishing floors and woodwork; and wash windows and other fixtures.
• Depending on assignment, cleans and disinfects bathrooms and maintains proper supplies for facilities.
• Picks up trash and litter throughout assigned areas, including picking up recycled paper from established locations, and disposes appropriately, as assigned.
• May utilize power push mowers, riding lawn mowers, electric and gas-powered trimmers, chain saws, brush chippers, hand tools such as rakes, hoes, shovels, clippers, saws, etc., as assigned.
• Utilizes appropriate safety equipment and procedures.
• Maintains records and logs for activity reports, hours worked, supplies used, etc.
• Identifies and reports maintenance needs of equipment.
