Description
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients spanning the pediatric to geriatric populations, utilizing standardized evaluations and observational methods.
- Craft tailored treatment strategies that focus on immediate objectives as well as long-lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver individualized therapy sessions that enhance skills in communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure a unified approach to care.
- Provide educational resources for patients and families to promote progress beyond your sessions.
- Contribute your expertise to occasional inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions, assuring seamless continuity of care.
- Keep accurate and timely documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organization standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and collaborations with peers.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications
- Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred possession of Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
