Job Description

General Statement of Duties:

• Participates in the general maintenance of a drilling rig.

Supervision Received:

• Receives directions from the Driller and overall supervision from the Rig Manager.

Supervision Exercised:

• Not Applicable

Summary of Duties (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following):

• Perform assigned tasks safely, efficiently and within the parameters of Company policies;
• Utilize tongs to connect and disconnect drill pipe/equipment as it is being lowered or raised;
• Clean and maintain equipment;
• Assist other members of the crew as needed;
• Clean, scrub, and paint the rig floor and rig in general;
• Drive mobile equipment and run general errands as required;
• Take an appropriate part in closing in the well if required;
• Other duties as assigned.

• Relevant functional and technical skills;
• Team-orientation and the ability to build good relationships with bosses and peers;

• Commitment to his/her own learning & development and is able to learn on the fly, particularly with regard to technical skills;

• Knowledge of rig equipment and safety practices;
• Physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.

Education and Experience:

• Must have valid H2S Alive ticket, Standard First Aid ticket, and eGSO;
• Relevant experience of field work in the oilfield services industry;
• Completion of Savanna’s Greenhand Program.
