Physical Therapist Assistant - Flex/PRN - Acute Care (Open) Employment Status: Variable / Flex Shift: Day (United States of America). Facility: 1906 Belleview Ave SE – Roanoke. We are looking for a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to support acute‑care patients under the direction of a licensed physical therapist. The PT‑A will assist in implementing treatment plans, coordinating care, documenting progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members. The position is on a flexible/PRN schedule focused on acute care settings. Responsibilities Provide patient care based on a licensed physical therapist’s evaluation and plan of care. Implement treatment programs and assist with treatment changes, taking into consideration patients’ age and development. Coordinate patient care and clinical activities through written and verbal communication with patients, families, therapists, team leaders, managers, and other healthcare team members. Document care in the medical record and complete all other required forms in compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies. Supervise and collaborate with support staff, volunteers, and students to achieve efficient clinical activity and quality patient care. Participate in program development, performance improvement, new employee orientation, committee membership, peer review, staff meetings, and other patient care and departmental activities as requested or assigned. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Physical Therapist license required to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
