1St Shift Picker/Packer

Job Summary:
Responsible for packaging finished food products safely, efficiently, and according to company quality and food-safety standards. The Packaging Operator prepares packaging materials, operates packaging equipment, inspects products, labels and packs finished goods, and maintains a clean and sanitary work area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor packaging machinery and equipment.
• Package food products according to production specifications and customer requirements.
• Inspect products and packaging for quality, weight, appearance, and proper sealing.
• Apply correct labels, dates, lot codes, and other required information.
• Load and arrange products into boxes, cases, trays, or other containers.
• Perform basic machine adjustments and report equipment problems to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
• Follow company food-safety, GMP, HACCP, and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized packaging area.
• Complete production records, quality checks, and other required paperwork.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Assist with cleaning and sanitation of equipment and production areas.
• Meet production goals while maintaining product quality and safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Previous food manufacturing or packaging experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift and move boxes/materials as required by the position.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation is preferred.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Work Environment:
Fast-paced food manufacturing/production environment. Employees may work around machinery, food products, cold or warm temperatures, and cleaning chemicals. Proper PPE and adherence to food-safety and workplace-safety procedures are required.
