Physical Therapist Assistant

Position Physical Therapist Assistant - Geriatric Salary: $26-30 per hour Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday with weekend rotation Facility: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and Long-Term Care (LTC) Outpatient Clinic, specializing in Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Stroke rehabilitation. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at our specialized geriatric facility. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitative services to our geriatric patients. Responsibilities Assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs and goals Perform therapeutic exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, and coordination Utilize modalities such as heat, ice, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation to aid in pain management and healing Educate patients and their families on proper techniques and exercises to continue their rehabilitation at home Monitor and document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and effective care for each patient Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of new treatment strategies and protocols Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation Adhere to all legal and ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality at all times Requirements Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program Current state PTA license Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with geriatric patients, preferably in a SNF or LTC setting Experience with ABI and Stroke rehabilitation is highly preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent time management and organizational skills Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical record systems #J-18808-Ljbffr
