As openings become available, applicants will be selected for interviews. This position is responsible for the safe operation of University vehicles and excellent customer service to passengers. Position Type: Part-time Salary: $18 to $18 Per Hour Job Categories: Support Staff > Transportation Job Requirements Required Education / Experience: High School diploma or equivalent Two years of commercial driving experience including minimum of one year of experience driving a passenger/school bus. Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Air Brake, Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) Endorsements. Texas School Bus Drivers Certification Must pass a Driver’s license history check and criminal background check Must pass a drug test prior to employment and each year and will be subject to reasonable cause and random alcohol and drug screening during employment. Must pass a yearly physical Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations, safety procedures, vehicle mechanics, route/areas, passenger management, and first aid. Driving, communication, customer service, observational, and problem-solving skills. Stress tolerance, situational awareness, time management, and adaptability. Competent in safety orientation, regulatory compliance, and technology. At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. High School/Trade School degree preferred.
