Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing for a complex ICU patient population including trauma (head, chest, abdominal, orthopedic), stroke, burns (adult and pediatric up to 18–20% BSA without respiratory involvement), and general medical/surgical patients requiring intensive care
• Manage ventilated patients and perform medication titration for all common ICU drips including vasoactive and sedation agents
• Monitor and manage arterial lines, central lines, EVDs, and ICP monitoring devices
• Support and monitor patients undergoing CRRT; collaborate with interdisciplinary team including intensivist eICU support after hours and 24/7 hospitalist coverage
• Independently read and interpret EKG rhythms using Phillips central monitors and intervene as clinically indicated — no monitor technician on unit
• Float throughout the facility (excluding ER and OB) as needed; capped at a 1:4 ratio if floated to MedSurg

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Demonstrated comfort with ventilator management and medication titration
• Experience with arterial lines and central lines
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy; negative drug screen required for all panels
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification preferred but not required
• Experience with CRRT preferred
• Experience with EVD and ICP monitoring preferred
