Apex has an opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst in the Boston (remote) area. Here are the details:

Business Analyst, Sales Business Solutions

• Looking for a Business System Analyst to support the business users with Salesforce.
• The team receives daily reports with questions and requests for help, anything from password reset requests to enhancement requests. This person is responsible for talking to the users, taking notes, and taking next steps.
• Salesforce knowledge is very helpful but not required (what it is, how it works.) They do NOT need to be at the admin or configuration level. If they've done Salesforce report writing, that would be a strong plus. They will be helping with doing some light testing, the team has test scripts and test plans.
• A basic understanding of healthcare can also be helpful since they are supporting the sales and service department, but not required.
• The team works very closely together, so this person needs to comfortable in a collaborative setting.
• Can be fully remote, working Eastern hours. If they have a personal preference for going into the office, they can work in the Boston office.
• Possibility to extend after EOY. Visas ok.

Business Systems Analyst

• The Business Analyst, Sales Business Solutions provides business analysis and technical support to the Sales Business Solutions team. Under minimum supervision, this role requires a comprehensive understanding of impact on business requirements for sales and service initiatives. The Business Analyst is responsible for reporting to business leadership, managing production support queues for application issues, identifying root cause of issues, documenting requirements recommending solutions, and testing. The Business Analyst is also required to become a subject matter expert on sales and service applications and workflow across the sales and service divisions. The Business Analyst will assist in leading cross functional teams on multiple projects accountable for ensuring technical design aligns with business needs. The job responsibilities vary along with the phase of the project and with production support requests. Throughout all phases of projects the Business Analyst meets regularly with the project teams to accomplish the objectives presented in the below description.

Major Responsibilities:

• Represents the interests of the sales and service divisions on projects and production support by understanding, creating and translating business requirements into system requirements while working with IT and vendor partners to ensure that system and design aligns with requirements and business needs.
• Subject matter expert for sales and service systems providing system administration (if needed), troubleshooting support and solutions; provide expertise for new product and initiatives and help to ensure critical sales systems are enhanced to handle our changing business needs.
• Help troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes and work with the team to implement solutions.
• Develop and produce standard, ad hoc analysis and reports.
• Facilitate and/or participates in cross functional workgroups, as needed, to ensure project deliverables are met; assist with the identification and mitigation of production support issues and risks.
• Accurately prepares written business and technical documentation that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective, professional and engaging.
• Develop and/or assist in creating use cases, business scenarios and testing strategies.
• Write, review and execute test plans.
• Leads root cause analysis efforts leveraging IT and SME’s across the organization.
• Develops and maintains effective working relationships with key external and internal customers.

Qualifications: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

• Business analysis skills to be able to ensure that system design aligns with business requirements.
• Must be detail oriented, and have solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to interpret, articulate, and document business needs and process flows.
• Must have the ability to understand the impact of changes on applications and workflows to develop future possible solutions and suggestions.
• Have the ability to take calculated actions when needed in complex or ambiguous situations to help set a direction or resolve issues.
• Creative problem-solving skills with strong verbal and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of software development life cycle.
• Understand the necessity of project standards and applies them consistently.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Experience and Education:

• BS/BA degree required
• 5-7 years of project experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Health insurance experience preferred.
• Experience with business process improvement and redesign.
• Experience with Salesforce is strongly preferred.
