Responsibilities and Duties Under general supervision, performs advanced level work by preparing and operating radiographic equipment to take general radiographs, fluoroscopic images, CAT scans, ultrasounds, and mammographies. Maintains equipment, supplies, patient records, and reports. Reads and follows instructions from requisitions concerning the necessary radiological examination to be performed. Explains exam procedures to patients to ensure cooperation and to allay anxiety. Follows regulated methods and procedures to achieve high quality radiographs and to ensure patient safety. Checks radiographs for image clarity and performs follow‑up if necessary. May be responsible for scheduling, supervision, and training of subordinates. Will be required to cover on‑call as needed. Performs related work as required. Mandatory overtime is an essential job function of this position. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies. Applicants selected for employment must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test and a pre‑employment background check. Education and Certification Education: As required by Licensure/Certification. Licensure/Certifications: License or temporary permit to practice radiologic technology issued by the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners.
