Sales Associate

Overview Five Below is seeking part‑time Sales Associates to provide outstanding customer service and drive sales in a fast‑paced retail environment. The ideal associate is friendly, knowledgeable, and able to support a welcoming shopping experience for customers. Responsibilities Greet customers promptly, acknowledge and assist them efficiently. Assess customer needs through product knowledge, answer questions, direct them to merchandise, and provide recommendations. Engage in suggestive selling and keep sales targets in focus. Inform customers about current store events, promotions, and special activities. Resolve customer concerns, offering alternative solutions and turning returns into exchanges when possible. Keep management informed of merchandise restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback. Collaborate with teammates to achieve store and company objectives. Qualifications Must be at least 16 years old. Flexible availability for a variety of shifts including day, evening, weekends and occasional overnight shifts. Comfortable with or willing to learn use of technology such as cash registers, hand‑held, and mobile devices. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner. Basic problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn procedural knowledge through on‑the‑job training. Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 25 lbs and work at heights up to 10 feet. Essential Job Functions Operate cash registers frequently. Move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove items up to a height of 5‑10 feet. Use ladders to retrieve and put away stock. Maintain a physical posture that includes kneeling, bending, twisting, and stooping, especially in the stock room and sales floor area. Communicate with customers face‑to‑face or over the phone while exchanging accurate information. Move across the sales floor to assist customers and to retrieve and put away merchandise. Work flexible shifts and travel as required to meet business needs. Identify and interpret electronic and printed instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and operating procedures. Remain in a stationary, upright position 80% of the time.
