$5,000 Sign on Bonus for External Candidates Optum NY is seeking a Registered Nurse – Endocrinology to join our team in Fishkill, NY. This position offers a schedule of Mon‑Fri 8am‑5pm (no weekends) with Wednesdays at the Poughkeepsie, Columbia Street location. Primary Responsibilities Provide direct, clinical nursing care to patients and significant others in the Endocrinology practice area, considering developmental differences among patients. Demonstrate knowledge of common disease processes, treatments, diagnostic and laboratory testing, and nursing interventions, including preventive health measures for the population served. Adopt a proactive approach to patient care, addressing each patient’s individual and family needs and communicating identified needs promptly. Use evidence‑based approaches to support self‑management, self‑efficacy, and health‑promoting behavior change. Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare team members to establish goals and priorities, and actively participate in the care team to integrate patient needs and preferences into the comprehensive plan of care. Apply population‑specific knowledge and clinical expertise to assess and manage the health needs of assigned patient populations continually. Conduct telephone triage with emphasis on assessment, problem/priority identification, and decision‑making. Administer medications and treatments accurately, with knowledge of proper dosage, route, site, and potential side effects. Provide up‑to‑date clinical information to patients in line with professional nursing scope and accepted CareMount Medical practice standards. Perform authorized technical procedures—such as EKG, phlebotomy, IV initiation/monitoring, and selected laboratory tests—as required in the clinical practice area. Seek validation or guidance from physicians, other providers, or nurse colleagues when necessary. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Registered Nurse licensed to practice in New York State with current registration in good standing. Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.). Current BLS certification. At least 2 years of recent pertinent professional nursing experience in a hospital, medical office, or similar clinical setting. Minimum 1 year of experience as a registered nurse (or 2+ years as a licensed practical nurse) in a relevant practice area. Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Records. Previous work experience in Endocrinology. Benefits and Compensation Pay is based on local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Hourly pay ranges from $29 to $52 per hour for full‑time employment. The position complies with all applicable minimum wage laws.
