The City of Boca Raton is seeking an experienced Assistant Traffic Engineer to support transportation planning, traffic operations, and multimodal mobility initiatives. This is a high-impact role working on development review, roadway level of service, Vision Zero, complete streets, and capital improvement projects in a growing coastal city.

What You’ll Do
- Conduct traffic studies, transportation analyses, and mobility planning
- Review development projects and traffic impact analyses
- Support Vision Zero and complete streets initiatives
- Manage consultants and transportation projects
- Respond to resident traffic concerns and safety requests
- Assist with Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects
- Collaborate with FDOT, Palm Beach County, and local stakeholders
- Supervise staff or consultants and support division operations
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Traffic, or Transportation Engineering
- 5+ years of traffic/transportation engineering experience
- 3+ years in a lead or supervisory role
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain FL PE within 1 year)
- Experience with traffic modeling/software (Synchro, HCS, SIDRA preferred)
Preferred
- Experience with complete streets or multimodal projects
Additional Requirements
- Valid Florida driver’s license
- Ability to pass background check, MVR, and drug screening
