Lakeland University, a NCAA Division III member of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in Plymouth, Wisconsin, is seeking an individual for the position of Sports Information Graduate Assistant. The position is a 12-month appointment for two years, beginning in August 2026.GENERAL EXPECTATIONSAll Lakeland University staff members are expected to:Demonstrate in their words and actions an appreciation for the history of Lakeland University and a commitment to its stated mission;Represent unequivocally in their behavior the stated values of the University;Be good stewards of the University's resources, including its personnel and the goodwill of its friends, its alumni, and local community;Work collaboratively (as opposed to competitively) with their peers to meet objectives and achieve our goals;Keep their supervisor appropriately informed;Be forthright and honest in their communication with all members of the University community;Treat all members in a manner of teamwork and respect;Acts in a manner that sets the standard for service in higher education and the core principals of Lakelanders Excelling at Professionalism (LEAP) - show respect, communicate and be positive;Advise their supervisor with respect to all matters that require their attention, including their own performance.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSA successful candidate will assist the Sports Information Director with coverage, promotion, and publicity of Lakeland's varsity sports.Responsibilities will include:Keeping in-game statisticsProducing publications including game programs and brochuresWriting press releases, games stories, and game previewsManaging content of Lakeland's athletics websiteProducing video and graphic content, including highlight videos and interviewsAssisting in management of Lakeland's athletics social media accountsQUALIFICATIONSBachelor 's degree and acceptance into the Lakeland University graduate school program are required.Experience in journalism, public relations or a related field preferred.Ability to assist in game day operations at many of Lakeland's home events, which includes nights, weekends.Must have an acceptable driving record for some travel required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESDemonstrated significant sports knowledge;Ability to effectively manage time and priorities;Ability to prioritize office workflow and make effective administrative decisions to increase efficiency, accuracy, and productivity;Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) along with strong editing capabilities;Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) or similar products;Experience in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop;Previous use of Stat Crew and/or NCAA Live Stats statistical software is preferred;Demonstrates organizational ability, and attention to detail and accuracy;Aid in managing student staff.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTLittle to no physical activity is part of the position.Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.OTHER DUTIESPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
