Critical Care Float Registered Nurse (RN)

The Critical Care Float Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients across various units, including ICU, PCU, MS, and assisting in the ED as needed. The role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to different clinical environments based on patient needs.

Schedule:

• 3 shifts per week, each 12 hours long (19:00 - 07:30)
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an ICU setting, with some experience floating to PCU
• Certification requirements:
• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS
• In-state license and required certifications must be in hand to be considered
• First-time travelers will not be accepted
• Local candidates will not be accepted

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in ICU, PCU, and MS settings
• Assist the Emergency Department as needed, serving as a resource traveler
• Manage patients requiring ventilators, and other critical equipment
• Perform procedures including EEGs, cardioversion, and stress tests
• Respond effectively to critical situations, applying appropriate intervention strategies

Unit Information:

The unit focuses on patients with various acute conditions including ARDS, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, DKA, AKIs, and UTIs.

Special Requirements:

Proficiency in handling ventilators, Arctic Sun devices, and balloon pumps, though the latter is rare.

Guaranteed Hours:

• 36 hours per week for 3, 12-hour shifts
• 48 hours per week for 4, 12-hour shifts
• 8 and 10-hour shifts are also available accounting for a total of 40 hours in one workweek
