Job Description
ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. This position is essential in providing high-quality care to patients with critical conditions in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Position Information

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: ICU/Critical Care
• Shift: Night Shift (19:00 - 07:30)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Number of Openings: 1

Unit Information

• Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Trauma Level: 3
• Number of Beds: 5 (with plans to expand to 10 beds)
• Patient Ratios: 2-3 patients per nurse
• Equipment Used: Ventilators, BiPAPs, intravenous drips, glucometers, etc.
• EHR: Medhost

Patient Population

Our focus is on adult and geriatric patients. We do not provide pediatric care.

Responsibilities

The ICU Registered Nurse will:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and health education.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Certification
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a critical care setting.
• Education: Must possess a valid RN license in the state of Tennessee.

Preferred Skills

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience in managing patients with various critical diagnoses such as DKA, CVA, chest pain, post-surgical conditions, electrolyte imbalances, overdose, and psychiatric issues.
