Senior Billing SpecialistJoin Talbert House and help maximize reimbursement, improve revenue cycle performance, and support services that make a difference in our community.Position Summary:The Senior Billing Specialist is responsible for the accurate submission, follow-up, and resolution of behavioral health claims. This role works closely with payers, providers, and internal teams to ensure timely reimbursement, resolve billing issues, and maintain compliance with billing requirements.Position Description:Submit, monitor, and resolve SUD and behavioral health claims.Investigate denials, underpayments, and unpaid accounts.Process adjustments, appeals, and refunds.Maintain accurate billing records and claims documentationWork with primary, secondary, and tertiary payers.Utilize Excel and reporting tools to identify trends and improve performanceAssist with payer audits, record requests, and special projectsEnsure all clients remain informed on their outstanding debts and deadlines; provide solutions to any related problems for clientsAbility to work claims and enrollments in Mental Health Board system.Other duties as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Proven experience as a billing specialistMental Health Recovery Services Board billingProficient in Excel (including V-Look up, pivot tables and moderate to advanced excel functions), navigating EHR/EMR portals & Claims management platformsElectronic health record softwareExcellent attention to detail; comfortable dealing with numbers and the processing of financial informationResults-driven and ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environmentExcellent customer service skillsKnowledge of medical billing, CPT & ICD-10 coding and collection process, and contract specificationsJob Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent, College degree preferred5+ years of medical billing experience.Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, claims processing, and collections.Experience with EHR/EMR systems and payer portals.Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.Mental Health Recovery Services Board Billing Experience preferredEssential Functions/Physical Demands:Positional: Driving in accordance with job duties assigned.
