Job Summary Langan is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in assisting with the natural resource planning, assessment, and permitting of land development and infrastructure projects, and leading specific assignments and tasks. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of top‑notch professionals in a variety of geographic areas and regulatory programs, and to collaborate and learn from our multi‑disciplinary team of site/civil, geotechnical, survey, and landscape architect professionals on landmark land development projects. Job Responsibilities Prepare the natural resource planning, assessment and permitting documents for land development and infrastructure projects in close collaboration with Project Personnel; Effectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess the natural resource characteristics of project sites for natural resource assessment and permitting due diligence to plan and design projects; Perform natural resource feasibility assessments for development projects; Write and/or review draft due diligence reports, assessment and permit applications; Prepare site assessments and related natural resource figures using GIS and AutoCAD software; Coordinate and perform field inspection services, as needed; and Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology or Planning; 3+ years of experience in natural resource assessment and permitting; Familiarity with current local, state, and federal land use permitting; Strong GIS and AutoCAD skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; Ability to occasionally participate in field work and work during evenings and/or weekends, as needed by project schedule; Occasional travel to project sites and/or client locations, as required; Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing. According to U.S. jurisdictional requirements, the estimated salary range for this role is $72,000 – $104,000. Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm’s annual bonus and performance review program. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year.
