Benefits 401(k) plan with employer contribution Health insurance, including HSA plan Vision insurance Voluntary benefits available through Unum Employee assistance program Referral program Employer-paid life insurance Paid time off Employee discount program About the Role The Clinical Informatics Specialist's primary responsibility is to synchronize, consolidate, and evaluate clinical procedures throughout the health system by utilizing clinical technology, process development, and research to enhance patient care, quality, and financial objectives. The role involves enhancing technology to elevate care and satisfaction for patients, providers, and staff. It requires active involvement with industry standards, professional communities, and supplier discussions. The main emphasis is on evidence-based practice elements and procedures to manage EPIC effectively, including updates and health resource content. The position is hybrid, requiring on-site presence one to two weeks each month. Supports endeavors concerning advancement, coordination, management, and marketing of informatics projects in specific sectors of the organization. Supports implementation of EMRs and fosters connections with both internal and external healthcare providers to encourage acceptance of technology and adherence to clinical standards. Leads improvement teams in enhancing clinical designs, needs, and processes. Leads teams focused on enhancing clinical and operational practices through overseeing documentation of designs, demands, and processes, then converting these needs into detailed instructions for the IT department. Ensures that the IT systems are tailored to achieve clinical objectives of delivering dependable care and creating a smooth interaction for both patients and healthcare professionals. Assists in securing support and endorsement from stakeholders and governance for these designs. Engages in safety programs and enforces strategies to reduce risks, guaranteeing adherence to relevant regulations. Supports generating and maintaining knowledge base articles and/or technical and procedural documentation when required. Acts as a bridge connecting healthcare system providers, clinicians, and leaders in information systems. Collaborates with all teams within the company to guarantee high standards, enable and execute modifications, and promote growth of informatics capabilities. Can manage creation and distribution of educational materials and training sessions for both in-house and external medical professionals, as well as support personnel and colleagues. Collaborates with colleagues to provide guidance and aid in fostering informatics skills among staff. Offers advice to inexperienced coworkers and demonstrates successful approaches to informatics. Performs additional responsibilities as instructed. Education requirements Minimum of a Bachelor degree including but not limited to nursing, therapist, health administration, public health, social services. Clinical training and licensure as appropriate to clinical background and state requirements. Required Experience Three years in clinical informatics and Epic Clinical Applications. Three years of experience in a complex healthcare setting. Demonstrated experience of relevant regulatory requirements, such as HITECH, HIPAA Privacy & Security and other CMS regulations and guidelines. In-depth knowledge of clinical practice, health care administration; patient safety; information and data management systems and associated software applications and configurations. Some understanding of skills required to support the building and management of data systems and the ability to analyze complex data sets to address clinical, operational, and personnel management issues. Change management, project management skills, including financial and budget management, scheduling and resource management. Experience in one or more area of quality improvement and IT methodologies. Agile, LEAN, product, Agile, ITIL. Licensure/Certification/Listing Required Licensure in the state, if required by the state board. Quality, safety or process improvement certification (examples: Agile, LEAN) or comparable experience. Preferred Board certification or degree in Clinical Informatics. If a physician, a board certification from a specialty board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association. Epic certifications.
