Location 530 S Jackson St, Louisville, KY 40202 Responsibilities Uses consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information for the examination, including correct patient identification and order verification. Assesses the patient to determine and develop an action plan for completing the procedure. Performs pre‑ and post‑exam patient education pertinent to the exam. Produces images according to established protocols within the Diagnostic Imaging Department, at the patient’s bedside, in the ER, and in surgery with a high degree of accuracy. Demonstrates good radiation safety practices during radiographic examinations, including use of lead shields, collimation, and verification of pregnancy status for women of childbearing years. Prepares for and assists physicians with intricate radiographic examinations. Ensures examinations are performed, completed, and ready for physician interpretation. Attends and participates in department staff meetings and in‑services. Maintains proficiency in hospital and radiology equipment and information systems necessary for job responsibilities. Instructs radiologic technology students in positioning, technique, and film critique. Presents a positive image of the hospital and department. Assists with quality improvement programs in the department. Maintains appropriate credentials and certifications related to clinical performance and ensures a current copy is on file with the appropriate department. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Certifications Graduate of a JRC‑approved program in Radiologic Technology. ARRT Registered. KY Radiation Operator certification (KBMIRT). BLS certification.
