We are seeking a skilled Mobile Heavy-Duty Truck Technician to perform preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, basic repairs, jump starts, fueling, welding, hydraulic repairs, electrical work, and other duties as assigned. As a Mobile Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for providing on-site maintenance and repair services to our customers' diesel vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
- Utilize diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Respond to after-hours service calls on a scheduled rotation basis, with overtime and commission for completed service calls
- Diagnose and repair trucks and trailers, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of any additional service needed and provide time estimates for repairs
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
- Maintain and manage company-provided service truck, including parts and tools
- Work independently and maintain a high level of productivity
Qualifications
- ASE certification preferred but not required
- Minimum of 2 years of diesel technician experience
- Customer-focused attitude
- State of Michigan HDT repair certified
- Willingness to stay up-to-date on industry training and equipment
- Possess your own hand tools
Compensation
Our Mobile Diesel Technicians earn between $30-$40 per hour , depending on experience. We also offer overtime and a commission plan for after-hours service, which means you can make up to $112 per hour!
