Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital is seeking an RN for an ICU position. The shift details are from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with three shifts per week and a total of 36 scheduled hours. The job order starts on August 24, 2026, and ends on February 22, 2027, for a duration of 26 weeks.

The job description includes night shifts with 3x12-hour rotations (17:00 - 05:30). The required experience is 2 years, and first-timers are accepted. Weekends are required every other weekend. Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, and Trauma III. The traveler will need to float between similar units. Locals are accepted, but a pending license is not accepted. RTO restrictions must be included at the time of submission. The hospital highlights include an acute care facility with 277 staffed beds, free parking, and charting on Epic.

The job requires previous charge experience, patient ratio experience, and experience with the Epic charting system. Skills include accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, assist with chest tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, carbon monoxide poisoning, cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU), care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, central venous pressure monitoring (CVP), chronic/acute renal failure, continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), CVA/acute stroke management, decompression sickness, emergency medications, epicardial pacing wire care and management, external ventricular drain (EVD), fresh tracheostomy, GI surgery, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, Impella, infection prevention, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation of dysrhythmias, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, lumbar drains, management of dysrhythmias, management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, medical intensive care unit, neuro intensive care unit, obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, PICC line management, post cardiac surgery (directly from the OR), post cardiac surgery (not directly from the OR), post craniotomy, post neurosurgery management, pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, pulmonary edema, pulmonary embolism, respiratory failure, sheath removal, spinal cord injury, starting and maintaining IVs, suctioning (ETT, NT), surgical intensive care unit, titrate cardiac drips, titrate vasoactive drips, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), trauma intensive care unit, traumatic brain injury, valve repair/replacement, ventilator management, and level II trauma facility.

The unit details include staffing and scheduling with a scheduling type of other, patient ratios of 2 during days, nights, and weekends, float required to a sister facility approximately 16-20 miles away (rare occurrence), and no call required. The facility and patient care details include patient age groups of adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, a daily census of 20, and interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary. Patient diagnoses include cardiac, neuro, med-surg, and trauma patients. The level II trauma center includes special procedures such as hypothermia s/p cardiac arrest, open heart surgery, CABG, TBI, primary stroke center TNK, CRRT, TAVR, and level 2 trauma services. Special equipment includes Arctic Sun, IABP, CRRT, Impella, EVD, Belmont, Cheetah Monitor, and Flo Trac.
