Job Description
Job Title: Pathologists Assistant Laboratory

- Licensure, Certification, Travel, and other reimbursements when applicable
- Minimum 3 years of experience in hospital clinical laboratory
- Experience with macroscopic description of gross anatomic features
- Performs gross examination and dissection of large/complex specimens and small biopsies
- Prepares tissues and conducts histological processing and sectioning of surgical pathology and specimens
- Tissue fixation, receipt, and labeling of specimens
- Evisceration, tissue sampling, and microscopic examination
- Obtaining and reviewing patient clinical information (scans, x-rays, lab results)
- Tumor triage, adult and fetal autopsies
- Certifications: ASCP - PA
- Specimen accessioning
- Cutting and staining frozen sections
- Postmortem examinations, including removal of brain and spinal cord
- Gross and microscopic photography
- Master’s degree preferred
