Software Engineer

Job DescriptionYou will be a full stack developer on a team focused on web applications that support internal and external RBC users. This role supports the modernization and enhancement of enterprise platforms using multiple technologies.You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams to design, build, and deploy scalable, secure, and resilient solutions that are relied upon by RBC employees and customers.What You Will DoProvide technical leadership and mentorship, ensuring adherence to best practices, security standards, and performance benchmarksPerform technical analysis and solution design; contribute to Jira story creation, estimation, and deliveryCollaborate with peers to develop code in line with strategic initiatives, as well as develop, troubleshoot, enhance, and document components to meet the needs of user requirements.Translate business requirements into clear, well-defined user stories and technical designsDesign, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade applications, including:.NET-based applicationsAngular Web applicationsCloud-native and microservices-based solutionsSQL Server and other relational database platforms.Deliver solutions using Agile methodologies through CI/CD pipelines and other deployment solutionsLead and contribute to end-to-end software development activities including:Architecture and designCoding and code reviewsUnit and integration testingDeployment and release managementConduct thorough unit/integration testing, often developing and leveraging automated testing frameworks, and improve performance of functions through performance tuning.Estimate activities/tasks required to perform design, coding, and unit testing.Be part of the developer’s community, participate in the continuous improvement and best practices.What do you need to succeed?Must have5+ years of hands-on experience in application development using:.NET CoreAngularJavaScriptSQLStrong experience designing and integrating APIsSolid understanding of relational databases and data modelingExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automated unit testingCloud platform experience, including:OpenShift / containerized platformsNice to haveWealth Management / Wealth Management applications knowledgeKnowledge of responsible AI practices, including data privacy, security, and model governanceSecurity vulnerability assessment and resolution to meet secure coding standardsWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
