In this hands-on role, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen by washing dishes, cookware, utensils, and equipment while assisting with general kitchen organization and housekeeping.Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will also work alongside adults with developmental disabilities, providing encouragement and guidance as they develop workplace skills in a supportive environment. Your work will help ensure efficient food service operations while contributing to meaningful employment experiences for the individuals we serve.The RoleWash, scrub, and sanitize dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, cookware, and other food service equipmentOperate the commercial dishwashing machine according to established procedures and manufacturer guidelinesInspect cleaned items for cleanliness before returning them to serviceOrganize and store clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and supplies in designated areasClean and sanitize sinks, shelving, dishwashing equipment, and surrounding work surfacesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe dishwashing area throughout each shiftSweep and mop floors in kitchen, dishwashing, and assigned work areasEmpty garbage and recycling containers, replace liners, and maintain waste disposal areasClean and maintain restrooms, lobby areas, banquet rooms, hallways, and other assigned spacesRespond promptly to spills and other sanitation or safety concernsAssist with general kitchen cleaning, housekeeping, and organizational tasksReceive, move, and store deliveries and supplies in designated locationsMonitor and replenish dishwashing and sanitation suppliesCommunicate equipment issues, sanitation concerns, and supply needs to the Kitchen ManagerSupport special events, banquets, and periods of increased business activityAssist in training and supporting participants in dishwashing, sanitation, organization, and other workplace skillsModel safe work practices, professionalism, teamwork, and respectful communicationCollaborate with kitchen staff, café employees, supervisors, and participants to maintain efficient operations.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience in dishwashing, food service, custodial work, or commercial cleaning preferredExperience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred but not requiredAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to communicate effectively in English regarding safety, sanitation, work assignments, and operational needsAbility to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a teamStrong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety standardsAbility to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining productivity in a fast-paced environmentAbility to interact respectfully with participants, coworkers, supervisors, and guestsAbility to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements throughout the workdayAbility to lift, carry, push, or move materials weighing up to 75 pounds, with assistance or equipment when appropriateAbility to safely use commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning chemicals while following food safety and sanitation proceduresFlexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, banquets, and special events based on business needs.CompensationThe hourly rate for this role is $15.00 per hourDisclaimer: As part of the pre-employment process, all employees at Lambs Farm are required to successfully complete background and registry checks and medical screenings.
