About the Role:

The Dishwasher Tech plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of commercial dishwashing equipment within food service establishments. This position ensures that all dishwashing machines are functioning optimally to meet health and safety standards, thereby supporting the overall sanitation and smooth operation of the kitchen environment. The Dishwasher Tech is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing routine maintenance on various types of dishwashing equipment to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of the machines. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential issues before they escalate, ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, the Dishwasher Tech contributes to a safe, hygienic, and efficient kitchen operation by keeping essential equipment in excellent working condition.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with commercial kitchen equipment or similar machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience specifically with commercial dishwashing machines and related plumbing systems.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to food service equipment.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff.
• Previous experience in a food service or hospitality environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on commercial dishwashing machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues related to dishwashing equipment and execute timely repairs.
• Collaborate with kitchen and maintenance staff to schedule repairs and minimize disruption to kitchen operations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory to support operational transparency.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to dishwashing equipment usage and maintenance.

Skills:

The Dishwasher Tech utilizes mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills daily to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime. Technical reading skills are essential for interpreting manuals and schematics to perform accurate repairs and maintenance. Communication and collaboration skills are employed to coordinate with kitchen staff and management, scheduling repairs in a way that supports uninterrupted kitchen operations. Organizational skills are important for maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities and parts inventory, which helps in planning and compliance. Additionally, knowledge of health and safety standards guides the Dishwasher Tech in performing work that meets regulatory requirements and promotes a safe working environment.
