Moreover, the incumbent understands, interprets, and complies with research policies and protocols. **Core Responsibilities:*** Performs specialized and complex experiments/studies.* Participates in the publication of significant research results.* Advances expertise through education, training, and research.* Writes extramural grants/proposals to gain support when appropriate.* Collects, prepares, analyzes, dissects, and evaluates specimens and tissue cultures.* Weighs and anesthetizes laboratory animals for experiments.* Operates sensitive and highly complex laboratory equipment.* Performs calculations to complete research test results.* Performs photography and dark room processing.* Participates in training sessions and workshops.* Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.**Department Specific Functions:*** Serve as a bridge between computational biology and wet-lab research by analyzing multi-omics datasets (bulk, single-cell, and spatial) from patient tumors and disease models.* Collaborate with data scientists, bioinformaticians, and cancer biologists to identify gene regulatory networks and investigate mechanisms of tumorigenesis, treatment resistance, and metastasis.* Analyze high-throughput sequencing datasets (e.g., RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq, Hi-C, and spatial transcriptomics), apply statistical modeling and machine learning, and develop computational workflows using R, Python, and GitHub.* Contribute to data visualization, interpretation, and manuscript preparation; assist with wet-lab techniques such as library preparation, histology, PCR, flow cytometry, and media preparation; document workflows and results according to institutional and scientific standards; and adapt to evolving project priorities, workflow improvements, and emerging analytical needs.***This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.*****Core Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field* Minimum 2 years of relevant experience* Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.* Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.* Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.UHealth-University of Miami Health System, South Florida's only university-based health system, provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
