What You Will Do The MDS Department Section Leader will have a technical role on a program and will provide guidance and leadership to a section of 15 to 20 Engineers. The candidate will act as a key leader and mentor in the department, employing leadership, presence and influence skills while fostering teamwork and interdependent execution. Responsible for the sustainment, assessment and development of the section. Ensure section members adhere to policy, vision, values, and goals Communicate flow-down to section members. Performance development which includes collecting and providing performance feedback to section members. Support section member’s yearly performance goal development. Support section salary and labor planning. Career and job assignment mentoring. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Experience in software development, integration or test using C, C++, Java, or Ada. Leadership experience managing teams or sections within a defense software development program. Experience developing software in a team-based development environment, preferably using the Agile Scrum or Kanban framework. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S Government Secret security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer Extensive experience as a leader of software development, integration or test activities on a defense software development program. Proven success in mentoring and developing engineering talent, both technically and professionally. Excellent communication and collaboration skills and ability to effectively interact with subordinates, customers, and other internal organizations. High energy, self-starting team player who achieves goals and promotes continuous improvement. In-depth radar domain knowledge (EWR, AN/TPY-2, XBR, CK, DBR, AMDR, etc.). Software Cost estimation experience. Strong strategic planning and decision-making skills. The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
