Systems Engineer V

Salary: $153,615 - 199,400 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related STEM discipline, plus 10 years of systems engineering or closely related experience; alternatively, a masters degree with 8 years of experience, 14 years of relevant experience in place of a degree, or a high school diploma/equivalent.
• We look for deep familiarity with MDA processes, CDRL development, and systems engineering lifecycle standards.
• We need expert-level skill with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
• We expect strong knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle standards, including the INCOSE SE Handbook and MIL-STD-499.
• We value significant hands-on experience applying MBSE principles with SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw).
• We require proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Project.
• Preferred: working knowledge of DoDAF architecture frameworks and digital engineering environments.
• Preferred: experience with reliability analysis and/or system safety analysis.
• We require the ability to travel up to 10–15%, including overnight trips when needed.
• We require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance.
• We require compliance with ITAR regulations.
• Applicants must be eligible to receive any required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.

• We act as a senior technical authority, ensuring program-level systems engineering discipline and alignment with contractual and mission expectations.
• We mentor junior systems engineers and help strengthen team knowledge sharing and process maturity.
• We define, maintain, and trace system, subsystem, and interface requirements while ensuring verification and compliance with MDA standards.
• We lead the development and validation of system architecture, including system-level verification and validation plans, functional allocations, interface definitions, and compliance reporting.
• We collaborate closely with propulsion, software, hardware, GNC, and test teams to achieve integrated system performance and verification closure.
• We manage system-level risk identification and mitigation and integrate those actions into the overall program risk posture.
• We oversee technical baseline management, change control, and participation in formal reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR.
• We provide MBSE leadership by guiding SysML modeling standards, requirements database integration, and digital engineering toolchain alignment.
• We serve as the main technical point of contact with customers and suppliers on requirements flowdown, verification progress, and technical issue resolution.
