Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance and reliability activities within a high-volume manufacturing facility specializing in durable synthetic plastic packaging solutions for steel coil applications. This role ensures optimal performance, uptime, and safety of all production equipment, utilities, and infrastructure. The Maintenance Manager drives preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and partners cross-functionally to meet production, quality, and cost objectives. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily maintenance operations, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems supporting plastic extrusion, molding, and fabrication processes. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and extend asset life. Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment failures, implementing corrective and preventive actions. Manage maintenance team performance, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to support continuous improvement, waste reduction, and efficiency gains. Plan and manage maintenance budgets, including labor, spare parts, and capital expenditures. Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OSHA), environmental standards, and company policies; promote a strong safety culture. Oversee installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment and upgrades. Maintain accurate maintenance records, KPIs, and reporting (e.g., MTBF, MTTR, downtime analysis). Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers. Support lean manufacturing and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) initiatives. Troubleshoot and handle any repair required on the facility, and proactively find the most cost-effective solution of resolution whether with internal manpower or external vendors interventions, while responding to priorities and time management in a fast paced environment. Requirements Must be authorized to work in the United States. Must be located in San Antonio, TX. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment; plastics or heavy industrial experience preferred. Forklift driving Strong knowledge of plastic processing equipment (extrusion, injection molding, thermoforming) and supporting systems. Proven experience implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools. Solid understanding of PLCs, automation systems, and industrial controls. Demonstrated leadership and team development skills in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance (OSHA, environmental). Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. English is mandatorily required; Spanish is optional, but a strong plus.
