CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver in Columbia, TN. This position requires a valid Class A CDL and includes local produce deliveries, cross‑dock operations, and client‑facing customer service during early morning shifts. Base pay plus incentives and paid benefits are provided. Responsibilities Provide technical expertise, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects. Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times. Unload product from the trailer by hand or using a hand cart, and place in designated customer storage areas. Transport product down ramps, stairs, or docks in all weather conditions. Frequently lift, push, or move product weighing 1–100 pounds; frequently reach up to 72" to stack or unstack pallets and hand carts, and constantly bend and twist while loading and unloading product and retrieving items from the trailer. Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures. Contact management for authorization when discrepancies occur on invoices. Communicate all errors and returns. Call in when a customer does not receive their entire order (shorts). Handle any customer complaints professionally. Handle company equipment properly, follow written driver safety rules, and perform a pre‑trip inspection. Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip responsibilities in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco policies and procedures. Minimum Requirements 21+ years of age. Must submit to a pre‑employment background check and drug screen. Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record. Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records. Touch freight—may need to lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40–60 pounds and up to 100 pounds repeatedly. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
