Job Title: RN - Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience, 1 year of OB Surg Tech experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring, Basic Cardiac Rhythm Must-Have: Strong clinical assessment and Labor & Delivery skills for a Level 1 Trauma Client, IV insertion and care, central line management, care coordination with interdisciplinary team Description: This position requires an RN with experience in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum care. The facility has 637 licensed beds and is designated as a Level 1 Trauma center. The unit comprises labor beds, ORs, PACUs, antepartum beds, triage, and postpartum beds. The patient census ranges from 2 to 14 Labor & Delivery patients. Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines. Required skills include the ability to scrub surgeries and assist with C-sections. The RN will be responsible for patient assessments, IV management, and coordination of care. Support staff includes OB Surg Techs and CNAs. Nursing duties will include tasks such as vital sign monitoring, glucose checks, and patient assistance. The unit is equipped with advanced technology, including EMR, IV pumps, and telemetry monitoring. There are no on-call requirements, and holiday work is required for major holidays. The unit operates on a team-based culture despite being busy.
