Job Title

Travel Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location

Asheville, North Carolina

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with up to 101 beds and patient ratios of 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds
• Utilize AIDET communication framework, maintain respectful patient interactions, and keep patient boards updated with current information throughout each visit
• Document accurately and efficiently using Cerner electronic health records system
• Operate Baxter pumps and GE monitoring equipment as required for patient care
• Float to all sections within the Emergency Department as needed to meet departmental staffing needs
• Collaborate with techs, cardiac monitoring unit staff, triage personnel, and unit clerks across all shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start date
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 years of experience in a Level II Trauma Center or comprehensive stroke center environment
• Experience in a high-volume Emergency Department exceeding 100,000 annual visits
• Previous experience within the HCA healthcare system
