Lead Metrology Technician
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc
Senior Metrology Technician supporting GMP manufacturing and laboratory operations at a biopharmaceutical production facility. Lead calibration, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability work while mentoring junior technicians and collaborating across engineering and manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex calibration, troubleshooting, adjustment, and repair of instrumentation and equipment
- Diagnose electrical, pneumatic, instrumentation, and process-control issues across manufacturing and utility systems
- Mentor Metrology Technician I and II employees on procedures, repairs, and monthly work coordination
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, Automation, and Quality teams to resolve equipment failures and investigations
- Identify calibration risks, equipment trends, and opportunities to improve procedures and standardization
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred
- 5+ years instrumentation, metrology, calibration, controls, or military PMEL experience
- Advanced troubleshooting across electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and process systems
- GMP-regulated manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to lift 40 lbs without assistance and work in cleanroom environment
