Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | Varied start times with a rotating schedule of 2x12 and 2x8 shifts; up to 3 call shifts may be scheduled per 6-week schedule as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical, procedural, or diagnostic interventions
• Monitor and assess patient vital signs, level of consciousness, and overall recovery status in the PACU setting
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate interventions in a timely manner
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe patient transitions
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and responses to care in accordance with facility protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or compact licensure eligibility
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Prior PACU or post-anesthesia care experience
• Ability to work night shifts with varied start times and rotating 12-hour and 8-hour shifts
• Availability for on-call shifts as needed within the 6-week scheduling cycle

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-volume or acute care PACU environment
• Familiarity with a wide range of surgical specialties and anesthesia recovery protocols
• Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills in a fast-paced setting
