Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Neuroscience Med/Surg night shift position in St. Louis, MO, requiring at least 1 year of inpatient acute care experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Neuroscience/Neurology unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Neurosurgical patient population including stroke, seizures, MS, and back/head/spinal diagnoses or neurosurgery procedures
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Rotating weekends, with an expectation of every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope as needed
• EMR: Epic
• An on-site FIT test will be required

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required — no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of assignment unless renewal documentation is provided
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient acute care Med/Surg and Neuro experience required
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
• No employment gaps of 90 or more days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Utilizes the nursing process to deliver care for neurosurgical patients, including coordinating with other departments and evaluating the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers
• Willingness to take on occasional charge nurse responsibilities is required; prior charge experience is helpful but not required
• Black scrubs required
• Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) per 13-week contract is allowed, but any approved time off must be made up during the assignment
• Candidates are expected to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a separation period or facility transfer is required
