Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period
• Assess maternal and fetal conditions and monitor labor progression
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments
• Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and uterine activity using electronic fetal monitoring
• Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Respond quickly to obstetric emergencies and provide appropriate interventions
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatal teams, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and quality care standards
• Deliver compassionate, family-centered care while supporting positive birth experiences

Requirements

• Active RN License in Washington
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Current BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification required
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of obstetric nursing, fetal monitoring, and emergency maternal care
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery environment
