About the Opportunity This role is with a lean, entrepreneurial investment office supporting a founder with a long track record of building and investing in businesses across multiple industries. The team operates across investments, operating companies, and philanthropic initiatives, with a focus on long-term value creation, thoughtful capital allocation, and building things that matter. This is not a large institutional environment where work disappears into layers of hierarchy. The team is small, fast-moving, and highly collaborative. People are trusted with real responsibility early and expected to think like owners. The Role We’re looking for a Family Office Associate to help own and improve the organization’s capital planning and business intelligence ecosystem. This person will work across financial modeling, dashboards, reporting, research, and investment operations to help leadership better understand where capital, time, and attention should be focused. You’ll work closely with leadership, accounting, outside advisors, and investment partners to gather information, refine systems, and translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. Over time, this role will also help shape internal processes around investment evaluation, documentation, and portfolio monitoring. This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role with significant exposure to leadership and meaningful room for growth as capability and ownership expand. What You’ll Do Own and continuously improve capital planning and forecasting models across operating businesses and investment holdings Build dashboards, reporting tools, and executive materials that help leadership make informed decisions Translate complex financial information into clear, decision-ready insights Investment Monitoring & Research Maintain regular communication with external investment partners and portfolio companies Gather updates on business performance, capital activity, and strategic developments Support investment research, thematic analysis, and portfolio monitoring Assist in developing and refining investment evaluation and documentation processes over time Systems & Process Development Help create scalable systems and workflows around investment tracking, documentation, and reporting Improve how information is organized and communicated internally Build tools and processes that bring clarity, visibility, and efficiency to the organization Special Projects & Strategic Support Support family-office-related reporting, planning, and organizational initiatives Contribute to projects tied to philanthropy, education, public policy, or broader strategic interests as needed Take ownership of cross-functional projects in a fast-moving environment Who You Are Trustworthy and discreet with sensitive financial and personal information Financially fluent and comfortable thinking through how capital moves through businesses and investments Curious about technology and interested in how AI tools can improve workflows and decision-making A strong communicator who can simplify complicated information clearly and confidently Detail-oriented and thoughtful—you care about getting things right Entrepreneurial and proactive—you don’t wait around to be told what to fix Organized and systems-minded—you naturally build structure where there isn’t much yet Comfortable operating in a lean, ambiguous environment with high ownership and accountability High EQ and polished in how you interact internally and externally Experience & Qualifications 2+ years of experience in investment management, consulting, private banking, finance, analytics, or another rigorous analytical environment Strong financial modeling skills and comfort building models from scratch Familiarity with investment concepts and return metrics (IRR, MOIC, cash flow analysis, etc.) Experience using AI tools in a practical, workflow-oriented way Comfortable working with dashboards, presentations, and financial reporting Familiarity with Notion or similar organizational/documentation platforms is a plus Strong references who can speak to judgment, ownership, and discretion Why This Role This is an opportunity to work closely with a founder and leadership team in a highly entrepreneurial environment where your work will have direct visibility and impact.
