Summer 2027 Internship - Lending

Position Wholesale Banking | Lending | Summer 2027 Internship | New York Overview Hands‑on internship at ING in Wholesale Banking lending. Interns work on live deals, projects and initiatives, gaining experience in financial analysis, credit risk, and portfolio management. Portfolio Management Responsibilities Sector Based Specialized Lending – work with deal teams on project‑finance‑type transactions Analyze transaction profitability Conduct industry and market research Perform credit risk analysis and help prepare credit approval proposals Prepare and present transaction proposals Create and update financial models and analyze results Coordinate transaction closing Client relationships & portfolio management Monitor project trends and operational performance for team leaders Support quarterly credit reviews, ad‑hoc requests, ratings and portfolio reviews or presentations Analyze cash‑flow and scenario analysis from financial models Assist in preparing and processing loan modification/amendment requests Review and summarize ongoing reporting deliverables and track covenant compliance General Responsibilities Liaise with other product specialists and departments across ING Stay well‑informed of industry trends and competitive landscape Prepare ad‑hoc and general research assignments Ensure clients receive an excellent level of service Communicate effectively and coordinate with team members to meet deadlines Support ESG assessments and risk ratings Qualifications Undergraduate student graduating in 2028 with a bachelor's in business, finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field (graduate students may be considered for select roles) Liberal arts majors interested in finance are encouraged to apply Prior internship or relevant financial experience is helpful Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel); financial modelling and credit writing exposure is valuable Knowledge of project finance and/or corporate finance is desirable Strong analytical, problem‑solving, multitasking and stress‑resilience skills Excellent oral and written communication; able to express ideas persuasively and organized Compensation & Logistics Hourly rate: $45/hour Full‑time seasonal paid internship, 10 weeks, starting June2027 Location: NewYork (hybrid work model, in‑office/home flexibility) Equal Opportunity Employment ING is a committed equal‑opportunity employer.
