Texas Sports Academy is creating a $25k+/year AI-powered sports-education model designed for students seeking rigorous academics alongside elite athletic development. The narrative is still emerging. This position requires someone who can command a stage, address a camera, and speak directly to parents, athletes, coaches, media professionals, and community leaders—delivering one unified message: this represents a new school category. You will convert student outcomes, athlete journeys, and leadership vision into a narrative that every stakeholder can articulate with precision and conviction. Then you will construct the infrastructure to validate it through profiles, video content, editorial work, data-driven storytelling, earned media placements, and public engagements. The scope is significant. Initially, you will create from nothing: messaging, credibility, voice, content, press relationships, and trust. As brand recognition expands, you will lead the creative team and define how TSA presents itself publicly. What You Will Be Doing Develop the foundational narrative and tailored messaging for families, athletes, coaches, media, and policy stakeholders Create evidence-based student and athlete profiles, outcome-focused data stories, video content, and editorial pieces Secure earned media coverage, build thought leadership positioning, and oversee communications during critical moments Serve as the public face of TSA on camera, on stage, at events, in podcast appearances, and in press interactions Establish the standard for creative quality and ensure the team maintains one unified, credible voice What You Won’t Be Doing Executing paid digital advertising, media buying, cold outreach campaigns, or performance marketing initiatives Overseeing backend enrollment systems, CRM administration, or admissions process workflows Pursuing superficial metrics like content volume, impression counts, or diluted engagement figures Remaining behind presentations, committees, or internal approval cycles rather than serving as the public representative Leading curriculum development, academic program planning, fundraising efforts, or investor relations as primary responsibilities Chief Content Officer Key Responsibilities Generate a sustained pipeline of families who comprehend and trust TSA's premium AI-powered sports-education model before they enter the enrollment process. Basic Requirements 7+ years of experience in persuasive public-facing roles Experience owning the narrative and public voice of a startup, mission-driven organization, media platform, or comparable public-facing brand Demonstrated on-camera and on-stage presence as a speaker, host, founder, journalist, creator, or public representative Capability to construct brand narrative architecture and audience messaging from the ground up Strong proficiency in audience code-switching across families, athletes, coaches, media, and public stakeholders Hands-on capability to leverage AI-enabled content production tools to create or guide high-quality content Passion for sports and student athletics Austin-based or willing to relocate to Austin, TX for on-site work Authorized to work in the U.S. Nice-to-have Requirements Background in editorial, journalism, broadcast media, communications, strategic sales, or creator-led brand building Experience converting outcome data into compelling stories for premium families or high-consideration buyers Proven ability to secure media coverage without relying on paid demand generation Experience challenging senior leaders while safeguarding message quality and brand trust About Sports Academy Texas Sports Academy is Where Future Champions Excel in Academics and Athletics Traditional schools force student-athletes to choose between excelling in academics or committing to their sport. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
