Currently, we import, manufacture, and distribute over 8,000 Japanese foods, beverages, restaurant equipment and supplies.All paid Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance for employees and their dependentsLife Insurance and 401k Plan with company match.Location: Medley, FLHours: 2nd Shift: Sun – Thu: 12pm – 9pmEssential Job Functions:Maintain a staffing structure for effective warehouse and distribution operations.Interview, hire, train, motivate, monitor, and evaluate warehouse associates and drivers.Approve PTO, Vacation, and timecard function on ADPEnsure associates can safely operate material handling equipment.Evaluate and streamline warehouse and distribution procedures for accuracy and efficiency.Monitor material handling from receiving to distribution, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA, FDA HACCP).Oversee the rotation of inventories and proper storage to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.Coordinate truck drivers, delivery routes, and loading operations.Meet with managers and supervisors to discuss products, receiving/shipping times, and distribution issues.Create separate pick sheet for fresh fish order and pound products. Delegates seafood/produce weight information to Warehouse and or order through vendor.Anticipate and request funding for future personnel and material handling equipment needs.Oversee the movement of materials from receiving to warehouse and distribution.Maintain equipment for safe and effective warehouse operations; research and procure suitable material handling equipment.Responsible for truck and forklift maintenance.Conduct semiannual inventory counts, possibly on weekends.Report inventory or service issues to the manager immediately.Collaborate with the sales staff to ensure orders are completed.Distribute will-call orders to warehouse personnel for picking, packing, and shipping.Receive, dispatch, and manage warehouse stock, overseeing distribution operations.Develop and coordinate warehouse operating procedures for shipping, receiving, transporting, and handling materials.Review and organize shipping documents, directing the movement of materials and products.Perform administrative duties such as contacting vendors for equipment repairs, PPE ordering, and maintaining truck maintenance records.Attend company events and functions outside of normal working hours.Obligation to respond to management as requested.Perform other duties as assigned.Picks and assembles customer orders as indicated on the pick list.Completes door to door deliveries by driving company truck on assigned routeMaintains and safely navigates the Company vehicleDocuments, records, and completes driver log when making deliveriesReceives product deliveries and unloads delivery trucks in a timely mannerInspects received products for damage and volume accuracy and documents accordinglyAccurately stocks inventory in the assigned warehouse location and rotates product inventory to maintain a First-IN, First-OUT (FIFO) food storage systemPartakes in warehouse upkeep and ensures the stockroom is clean and organizedPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyAbility to handle and move up to 165 pounds assisted occasionallyAbility to drive for a majority of the daily working hours (secondary)Working Conditions – open busy area with equipment noisesOther Requirements:Business level English – Read/write/speak/listenOther language such as Spanish and Japanese preferredTo have and maintain a clean driving recordAbility to work weekends, holidays, and afterhours as neededHigh school Diploma requiredB.S. or B.A. in business management, industrial management or related field preferred5+ years of warehousing experience required2+ years of managerial experience requiredKnowledge and Skills:Good mathematical skills – ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentagesExceptional managerial skillsExcellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skillsKnowledge of Japanese/Asian foods and kitchen supplies preferredDisclaimers:This position description is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements.
