Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Microbiology
$32.5 - $43 per hourLabcorp
Clinical laboratory technologist position in microbiology at Ascension St Agnes in Baltimore. Role involves performing routine and complex laboratory procedures, operating instrumentation, and ensuring quality control in a high-volume production environment. Evening shift with alternating weekend schedule.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate specimen acceptability and perform routine and complex technical procedures per protocols
- Monitor, operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper functionality
- Perform preventive maintenance, quality control procedures, and document results
- Prepare and test reagents or controls; identify and manage bench supply inventory
- Assist with specimen processing and maintain safe work environment with appropriate PPE
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology
- Minimum one year clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
- Proficiency with computer systems and laboratory information systems
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Compensation: $32.50-$43.00 per hour + shift differential
