Production SupervisorImmediate need for a talented Production Supervisor. This is a 12 months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Sterling Heights, MI (Onsite). Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).Key ResponsibilitiesManufacturing / Union experience strongly preferred. Position must be willing and able to work any of 3 production shifts.Ensure the production plan is met, analyzes issues with other roles, drives and implements continuous improvement activities and sustainability of solutions inside the Zone.Ensure a safe workplace, leads the Team to improve Safety in the area and enforces the use of mandated Safety tools and procedures.Understand losses during the Shift, use the C-Matrix to coordinate World Class Manufacturing activities and improve Zone performances.Proactively analyzes quality KPIs related to the Zone, prioritizes quality issues and properly guides Team Leaders.Ensure the right allocation of the people on the line, manages absenteeism, trains and builds teams.Possess knowledge of the broader manufacturing organization and have the ability to mobilize support groups and resources to lead and assist in problem solving activities.Actively participate and lead kaizen project activities centered on Safety, Cost, Quality and Throughput improvements and waste reduction opportunities identified through cost deployment.Key Requirements and Technology ExperienceKey skills; "Production line", "Manpower allocation", "Union environment", "Lean Manufacturing"High school diploma or GEDAbility to work any shift and overtime as requiredExcellent organization, written and oral communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as requiredAbility to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customersAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyGoal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teamsAbility to coach/mentor/develop team membersMust have a good working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeBachelor's degree in a technical field2 or more years' experience in supervision in a high-volume environment.Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor/develop team membersPrevious experience working in a union environmentExperience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturingGood working knowledge of Microsoft Suite software programsOur client is a leading Automotive Industry, and we are currently interviewing to fill this and other similar contract positions.
