Compensation: $17.00/ HR

Job Summary

The Certified Home Health / Hospice Aide (CHHA) is a paraprofessional member of the home health and hospice care team who works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Therapist. The CHHA provides personal care services to patients in their homes to meet individual needs, promote comfort, and support quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care needs to promote comfort and safety

• Observe patient condition and promptly report changes to the supervising clinician

• Accurately document care provided and patient observations

Required Skills & Experience

• Ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)

• Patient and family sensitivity with a non-judgmental, empathetic approach

Education

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) – State of California, in good standing

• Current BLS certification

• Registration on the Home Care Aide Registry (CA Department of Social Services – Home Care Services Bureau), in good standing

• Valid California driver’s license

• Reliable automobile insured per state and organizational requirements and in good working order
