Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in a Level III non-profit community hospital. This 15-week contract offers an opportunity to provide critical care in a high-acuity, fast-paced emergency department. The role involves managing a diverse patient population from neonates to geriatrics and requires flexibility, strong clinical skills, and teamwork.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights: 7p-7a; Minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC); at least 2 years of experience in a large-volume emergency department with high acuity patients; experience with barcode scanning medication administration, managing medication drips, blood product administration, triage (must pass hospital triage test), setting up chest tubes and art lines, assisting with trauma and code cases, splinting, bipap/ventilation, and a good understanding of ESI; pediatric emergency medicine experience and Point of Care Labs experience are highly preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pediatric emergency medicine and Point of Care Labs.
• Patient Types: Neonate to geriatric; trauma, stroke, cardiac, behavioral health, substance use disorder; high acuity pediatric patients; transfer out stabilization.
• Patient Ratios: 1:3-5 based on acuity; fast track zone with 13 beds.
• EMR: Epic (required)
• Float: No float rotation required.
• Shift Times: Nights: 7p-7a.
• Additional Information: This role involves working in a busy emergency department with a level III trauma designation, managing diverse and high-acuity cases in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility with scheduling is preferred.
