Join Our Dynamic PACU Team Job Description: - Are you passionate about patient care and looking to make a significant impact in a fast-paced environment? - As a PACU RN, you'll function as both a caregiver and a care manager. - In your caregiver role, you will: - Take responsibility for a group of patients - Implement the Nursing Process with skill and knowledge - In your role as a care manager, you will: - Direct and oversee the work of other caregivers - Support your team through delegation, coordination, and supervision - Collaborate closely with patients, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. What You'll Do: - Conduct thorough assessments focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status. - Deliver care consistently by following established procedures, policies, and care plans. - Identify patient and family learning needs; implement effective teaching strategies. - Maintain precise documentation in electronic medical records per policy and regulatory requirements. - Demonstrate respect and sensitivity to diverse patient backgrounds and rights. - Exhibit effective delegation and supervision of patient care activities. - Utilize strong critical thinking skills for organization and prioritization. - Function as a Charge Nurse when necessary, coordinating staff assignments and supporting team problem-solving. - Commit to ongoing professional growth through training and affiliations. - Ensure compliance with safety requirements and organizational policies. - Promote effective communication with team members and support groups. - Conduct yourself professionally, representing the organization with dignity and respect. Qualifications: - Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. - License: Current Washington State RN Licensure required. - Certification: HCP (Healthcare Provider) Level of BLS within 30 days of hire; ACLS and PALS certifications to be obtained within 6 months. CPAN certification preferred. - Experience: Preferred experience in acute care, with a minimum of one year in specialty nursing departments. Skills: - Ability to perform fundamental nursing functions; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. - Strong critical thinking and crisis management skills. - Demonstrated competency in providing care across the age continuum. Physical Requirements: - Ability to perform tasks involving frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and manual dexterity. - Strength to manage physical demands, including CPR and lifting/pushing with assistance. - Good visual and auditory acuity for assessment and communication. - Emotional stability to thrive in a high-stress environment.
