About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a high-growth AI technology company to identify an Engineering Manager, UI Platform to lead a team responsible for the foundational frontend platform powering multiple user-facing product surfaces. This includes shared infrastructure, APIs, tooling, reusable components, build and deploy systems, observability, and performance infrastructure that enable product teams to ship quickly, safely, and reliably.

This is a highly technical leadership role for someone who can stay close to the code, drive architectural decisions, and build systems that improve developer velocity across product engineering. The role partners closely with product engineering, infrastructure, design, and leadership to ensure the platform scales effectively as the product and organization continue to grow.

What You'll Do

• Lead and grow a UI Platform engineering team, setting technical direction across reliability, performance, frontend infrastructure, and developer experience.
• Own foundational systems used by product engineering teams, including shared components, tooling, build/deploy pipelines, observability, and performance infrastructure.
• Improve developer velocity by reducing friction, improving internal tooling, and enabling teams to ship features faster and more safely.
• Establish high standards for latency, reliability, quality, and maintainability across user-facing product surfaces.
• Partner closely with product, design, infrastructure, and engineering leadership to align platform investments with business and product priorities.
• Create clarity and direction in a fast-moving environment where priorities may shift as the product evolves.
• Build a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience building platforms, developer tools, frontend infrastructure, or infrastructure for consumer-facing products.
• 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managing and growing teams in high-growth environments.
• Deep experience with modern web development stacks such as React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• A strong track record of building tools, systems, or platforms that make other engineers more productive.
• Strong opinions on reliability, observability, performance, and quality, with the ability to operationalize those standards at scale.
• Ability to balance technical depth with strategic thinking.
• Experience creating structure and clarity in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to build alignment across product, design, infrastructure, and leadership stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Building or scaling platforms across multiple surfaces such as web, mobile, desktop, or browser extensions.
• Performance optimization and latency reduction for consumer-facing applications.
• CI/CD, build systems, deployment automation, observability, monitoring, metrics, logging, or tracing.
• Experience working on AI, machine learning, developer tools, or rapidly evolving product environments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or professional experience.
• Relevant technical background demonstrated through coursework, training, or hands-on engineering experience.
• Senior-level software engineering and engineering leadership experience aligned with the scope of the role.

Compensation & Benefits

• The annual base salary range for this role is expected to be: $180,000 - $230,000 USD
• Final compensation will depend on experience, location, internal level, and overall fit. Equity and benefits may also be included as part of the broader compensation package.

Location / Work Model

This is a hybrid role with office presence expected on a regular basis. Current expectations are approximately 25% in-office , though some roles or teams may require additional in-office collaboration depending on business needs.
