Step into a rewarding special education contract opportunity supporting elementary students in a positive and collaborative school environment. Work closely with a dedicated group of 2nd and 3rd graders, providing impactful instruction and individualized support to a manageable caseload of seven students—all at a single school site. This role spans from December 1st through the end of the school year, with full-time hours (37.5 per week) to ensure continuity and connection with your students.

Key qualifications:

• Valid and active California Mild/Moderate Special Education Credential is required
• Prior experience teaching special education at the elementary level preferred
• Demonstrated ability to adapt instructional strategies for diverse learners
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for all students

Core responsibilities:

• Develop and implement tailored lesson plans in alignment with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Monitor, assess, and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, families, and related service providers
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student-focused teams
• Maintain accurate records and compliance with all state and federal regulations
• Cultivate a classroom culture that supports each child’s academic and social-emotional growth
