12+ years of software engineering experience 5 years DoD experience Bachelor's Degree in a ABET accredited engineering discipline Plusses: KC-46 or any large aircraft experience Cyber background Job Description: An employer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work hybrid onsite at Wright Patt AFB in Dayton, OH for a direct hire opportunity. This is a hands off/ non technical position but it is required that the candidate has a strong software engineering background. You will demonstrate knowledge of software engineering in support of the design, development, testing and evaluation, implementation, maintenance, and administration of new and/or existing software systems. Assist in the design, develop, test, and maintain software systems, including software integration, requirements analysis, architecture, implementation, and ongoing support for existing and new systems. Apply software assurance and cybersecurity best practices, using tools to analyze software architecture, source code, binaries, and potential vulnerabilities to ensure reliability and compliance. Support Air Force and DoD engineering programs by translating user needs into system requirements, assisting with system design, testing, evaluation, and deployment of aircraft, avionics, and weapon systems. Perform engineering analysis and problem-solving, including trade studies, risk assessments, system safety evaluations, airworthiness support, deficiency analysis, and development of corrective actions for operational issues. Develop and maintain technical documentation and program plans, such as Software Development Plans (SDPs), Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), requirements documents, test plans, safety documentation, acquisition strategies, and executive briefings. Support program execution and lifecycle engineering activities, including design reviews, milestone reviews, configuration management, risk management, contractor evaluations, schedule and cost estimating, OSS&E compliance, and continuous process improvement initiatives. #J-18808-Ljbffr Insight Global
