Duke LifePoint combines Duke's unparalleled expertise in clinical excellence and quality care with LifePoint's extensive resources and knowledge and experience operating community hospitals and healthcare organizations.Essential Functions:Labels, processes, delivers, and receives specimens in MIS for testing.Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques, in a timely manner.Maintains equipment and medical supplies used in the performance of phlebotomy.Participates in continuing and mandatory educational activities in a timely manner, meeting expected deadlines on own initiative.Observes all safety procedures as they pertain to universal precautions.Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.Required Skills:Completion of a certified phlebotomy training program.No required license.ASPT or ASCP certification preferredBLS (within 3 months of hire)Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Computer: Meditech experienced preferred.Minimum Work Experience: 1 month phlebotomy experience preferred.Equal opportunity and affirmative action employers and are looking for diversity in candidates for employment: Minority/Female/Disabled/Protected Veteran
